Fernando Salazar, originally from Mexico, is an actor, singer and dancer based in New York City. He graduated in Drama from the CEDART José Clemente Orozco, under the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature of Mexico (INBAL).
Before the age of 21, Fernando had already made a mark in his hometown of Guadalajara, performing in numerous stage productions, teaching Jazz dance to hundreds of students, and choreographing three musical plays.
In 2013, Fernando relocated to New York City to pursue full-time training at the Broadway Dance Center, where he earned the Outstanding Student Award. There, he refined his craft in Jazz, Contemporary, and Musical Theater. He has since performed with various contemporary dance companies in NYC and taught dance workshops across Mexico, Spain, and the USA. Fernando has also assisted esteemed mentors at renowned institutions like Alvin Ailey and Millennium Dance Complex.
As a SAG-AFTRA actor, Fernando has appeared in television shows and films in both Los Angeles and New York City. His credits include serving as a lead stand-in for two Apple TV+ series and in the Netflix film Girl Hunts Boy (2024).
On stage, Fernando’s performances range from Ionesco's The Bald Soprano to Disney's High School Musical: On Stage. In New York City, he has appeared in productions such as Carnival, the A.C.E. Capezio Awards, and in campaigns for the NBA and TAG Heuer.
In addition to his stage and screen work, Fernando co-starred in his original short films Fries & Beans (2018) and Non-Citizens (2019). Both films explore themes of immigration and queer romance and were featured at the Short Film Corner of the Cannes Film Festival.
Fernando’s recent acting training includes studying at HB Studio and the Stella Adler Studio of Acting. He remains passionate about creating and telling new stories, striving to challenge stereotypes and advocate for authentic portrayals of Latinx individuals on Broadway and in Hollywood.
